Eden is often referred to as God’s Country, and a journalist in 1926 referred to the cemetery as “A seaside God’s acre”.
It’s got the best land in town, and is thought to date back to 1963, when mariners would bring their dead ashore for burial. Within the white picket fence boundary rest many local pioneers and familiar family names, including three generations of the Davidson whaling family.
Tours will be held at 11am and 2pm, by volunteers who lovingly tend to the grounds and head stones, and historical records. This is also a stop on the Discover Eden Shuttle Bus and linked with the Eden Boardwalk.
